Watch this. Some people ported the Contiki OS to Apple II, which includes a complete TCP/IP stack and web browser in a text-based desktop environment (think textmode Framework for DOS).

Also check this videoclip featuring a nice song and an Apple II showing the lyrics in a stylized way.

Awesome! That's like taking a skateboard on the information superhighway. Cool video, will look more at Contiki OS.
