Kudos to the guys who put this together for the general public. Played some great games recently, much appreciated! Daikatana is, was and always will be such a great game!

Is there a way you could make an easy to install patch for this that has RocketArena1 and RocketArena2 maps? I would love to host a 1v1 server but most people wont have these maps anymore.

Good idea. We were going to release DKDM with the user map pack included, but we wanted to make the release as small as possible, so they were axed. Also we never thought it'd take off like it did. I guess thats why we never thought of including the rocket arenas.

Unfortunately the casual gamer who found DKDM on an mirror will most likely not ever know of a patch/map pack if released.

I'll have a word to DI-MeisterM though to get some maps, etc and we'll see where we go from there.

Thanks for the feedback!

Guys, there are a few issues with the rocket arena maps.
First off, they need a special server setup (rockets only), but this isn't the only problem. The main problem is, that the server automatically crashes if the fraglimit/timelimit is reached. This has something to do with the special spawn system we have on the rocket arena maps. So I really can't recommend to use them in a map rotation.

I returned to Daikatana, I am surprised to see the community lives and is biggere than 2 years ago, great work!
I will maybe run serevr too again as when I get new router.

But I am havign some troubles nw with Daiaktana on winXP, I used before win98se, back then when I had it isnatleld and it worked fine. Now what happens is that the agme sometims gets stuck while laoding levels online.
Or when using the DM edition, I had some problem with connecting to some servers, the maps which were needed were not dled to me.
It says can't cnnect to cmd or something when I don't have the map which is on server, should it do taht?

Daikatana doesnt support auto download map to clients. You have to search for the custom maps and adding them manually.

I thought that Daikatana DM supports online downloading, that insatller. (sry for my grammar and typingm, I am tired)
I misunderstood that. Don't forget I insatlled Daikatana last time before there was even DK DM..........

DKDM is just a compact deathmatch only "hack" of Daikatana retail v1.2, and retains everything Daikatana can/can't do.

Unfortunately, online downloading of maps is something which Daikatana, in it's final retail form of v1.2, isn't capable of.
