Since i was small (since ~7) i wanted to live by writing computer games. Now i'm 25 and although i've finished some, i still can't live from my own games* :-(

(*=exception: 2 months before joining track7 games i was actually living from a couple of webgame sponsorships, although "living" is a relative term, since i was basically starving and had only enough money to avoid getting kicked out from my house - eventually i got kicked out, but that was because track7 games stopped paying people and they were owing me about six months worth of payments - i got them, but that was too late).

At least in my current job i do realtime 3D and the place is nice...

I've been trying out PHP lately, which is an excellent language. I just need to get MySQL installed properly on my personal server and figure out how to use that.

PHP keeps popping up in job ads, so that's a good idea Riz. ^_^

If you use Windows, check WAMPServer. Its a single installer that puts Apache2, MySQL, PHP and PHPMyAdmin in a few steps. Also includes a nice tray icon to start/stop stuff, edit configurations, open the web directory in explorer, enable/disable plugins, etc.

Its a must if you're developing in PHP under Windows :-)

That's pretty much why I'm interested in it :P

Awesome. I'll have to check that out. I only have Apache and PHP running so far, so this should be useful. Thanks :)

I prefer remembering decades that I wasn't even a part of. Like the 70's! Man, those were the days, I tell ya!

The 70s did rock :)

PHP isn't bad! I just made a script that will help me keep track of my CD collection. Originally, I was using a C program that would, for whatever reason, corrupt the entire index when I tried entering particular albums, but the problem no longer exists with the script.

The only problem I'm having so far is forgetting to start all of the variables with a $.

Well.

The next step would be to try and use Python instead of PHP for web programming :-P.

The worst thing about being a teenager is when I have my birthday party, I swear someone is going to spoil it by suggesting we all do drugs.

-_-
