Now it does run, but I get a Direct3D error. It can't initialise or something.

Download the program I created to create this picture here

this demo is good

but i miss the old sfx :)

and controls are a bit b0rked, i still can't jump from under the wall

also original dave had a bug where you could do a 'wall climbing' which was VERY useful :)

plus, in original, when you die, the 'got tropy' status didn't reset

otherwise its great

just make a level editor available and make it so people can make their own episodes. 10 levels each episode and 1 episode being 1 file.

and you could also add another level pack - 'classic mix' which will include the levels from apple//e version of dave, there were some differences plus some new levels.

Well first of all i dunno how to make a level editor in GM if i do i will make one

in the apple ii version the only difference was level 2

IF you want to make  a level in the level remake follow this layout

r=redbrick
b=bluebrick
s=stone
w=water
d=door
m=metal
p=purplelines
t= trophy
1=bluejewl
2=purpleorb
3=redjewl
4=crown
5=ring
6=wand thingy
|=vertical purple block
-=horizonal purple bock
.=stars
O=moon
S=slope
j=jetpack
T=tree
w=wood stick
G=gun
P=pipe
F=green stuff in level 10
//dave
0=dave
//enemys
S=spider
Z=purple orb
R=red ball enemy
W=spinning weight thingy
o=horizonal oval thingy
U=brown ufo thingy
g=green circle thingy
*=Vertical oval thingy

When making a level it cannot be more than 10 spaces tall but you can make it as long as you want
here is an example with level 1

It ussaly dont look like this its just that the periods are smaller
rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs
r2...............3rs
r..1...1...t...1..rs
r..r...r...r...r..rs
r1...1...1...1...1rs

i think there are some differences in the levels themselves too, at least small differences present. i m in the middle of exams and i cant remember dave levels 100% correct but i think there are differences.

And the ending of level 3.

And there isn't a secret in the water in the PC version in level 7.
