I've bought Hovertank 3-D, Rescue Rover, and Dangerous Dave in the Haunted Mansion, and loved all three (although sometimes they get so frustrating), and I don't know what my next purchase should be.  Is Shadow Knights any good?  Or should I try the Catacomb or Catacomb
3-D series?  Or what about Slordax?  I'm probably going to get all of them eventually, but what should I get first?  I just got some money for a 4.00 gpa this quarter (I'm a freshman), and although I'm saving most of it, I want to buy 2 or 3 games.

P.S.  Is Dave Goes Nutz and Risky Rescue really that bad?

I would reccomend the first Catacomb 3-D.  Don't bother with Abyss, Apocolapyse, or Armageddon.

Well here's what I think I'm going to get for sure:
Catacomb 3-D (Played the Abyss demo and love it)
Shadow Knights (I'll take Frenkel's word, he knows a lot about things like this)

And then I can't decide on whether to get another Catacomb game or maybe Rescue Rover 2.  Does anyone have any opinions on Slordax?

Well.. the game is quite ok. To quote from the in game manual:
"BLAST AWAY AND SAVE THE GALAXY! IT'S THE ONLY ONE WE'VE GOT!"
I would say don't expect too much long time motivation because of the simple gameplay. The game is also very hard, nearly impossible in my opinion. I only managed to get to the beginning 2nd level yet (ok.. have not tried that hard..).
Some of the sounds and other things reminded me of the first 3 Commander Keen games. So add some extra nostalgica bonus. *g*

You should definitely get Shadow Knights.  That's one of my favorite early id games of all time.  Just try to beat it!  It's totally different from our later games.

Brick, are you just looking at things in the office and saying that you love them?
I love lamp.
Do you really love the lamp, or are you just saying it because you saw it?
I love lamp! I love lamp.
