OH I offend you? Well I can't remember back freaking 10-years ago(All I remember is a mess of pixels on the screen and I'm to scared to install my DOOM collectors edition what if I have to play without a mouse again). I liked DOOM III for it's outstanding tech and really unique style gameplay. American McGee's Alice is the best game of all time it had everything great graphics, super fun gameplay, wacky characters a classic game through and through. There's a bunch of other games I like a lot that's not on that list 5 games on a list is a bit crazy but these are the games I talk the most about.

1.Quake I (I still play it daily)
2.Warcraft II (again.. play it daily)
3.Doom II (yup - the only reason why I forked out for a gba)
4.Civ II
5.Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Dark Forces II (1997 release - amazing! - never got so involved in a game so much in my life!)

1 - Twisted Metal 2
2 - Sonic 3
3 - Resident Evil 2
4 - Duke Nukem 3D
5 - Gran Turismo

Doom can burn in hell. No offense Romeo, but Id games never meant much to me.

*EDIT*
Heh, I was overexaggerating quite a bit there btw. When Doom came out I was into console games, it wasn't until years later when I played it. It was still pretty cool and I beat all the episodes. Doom 2 was always fun to waste hours one. I could zone out and just have fun with that one since you don't have to think much with it. Quake and Quake2 were fun. Anyways, that was just to clear things up a bit.

I hate making top 5 lists; I have like a top 100, where they all share equal position:

In no order:

Tie Fighter,
Kickstart 2 (old commodore 64 game)
Transformers (C64)
Falcon 3.0
Doom,
Descent,
Falcon 4.0,
Frontier: Elite 2,
Chuck Yeager's Air Combat,
Gunship 2000,
F19/F117 Stealth Fighter
Megafortress,
Chrono Trigger,
Zelda III,
Pilotwings / 64,
Goldeneye,
Metal Gear Solid 1/2/3,
Final Fantasy 4/6/7/8/9,
Mega Man 3,5,X,X2,X3
Quake II,
Starcraft,
Doom 3,
Sim City 2000 (even though it was impossible without cheating)
Civilization,
Empire Earth,
Metroid 2/3/4
Rescue Rangers,
Section Z,
Ultima Underworld,
Rainbow 6,
Gran Turismo series
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1/2 (NES)
Tetris
Mario
Contra
Street Fighter 2
Soul Calibur
Ferrari F355
Phantasy Star series
Mario Kart
Final Fight
Mortal Kombat
Killer Instinct
Star Trek Birth of the Federation
Sonic
Halo
Planetside

ok ok ill stop, but i could go on ... good lord i could go on.  I've been a gamer since 1987 and playing games from before that time to today on all kinds of systems from apple II's to ataris to commodores to 286 to 386 to 486 to pentium to now ... im really excited about games and could talk about them for days so you have to forgive me for being so indecisive when it comes to favorites  :D

Agreed, I can't make a top 5, its WAY too small, and so I woN't.

Here's a slightly bigger list. My list constantly changes  order. There are times when Unreal Tournament, etc an come from 'Place 12' to Place 4' depends on the times.

1. Thief 1 & Thief 2
2. Daggerfall
3. Ultimate Doom & Doom 2
4. Half Life 1
5. Duke Nukem 3D
6. Quake 1
7. Blood 1
8. Carmageddon II
9. Swat 3
10. Red Baron 3D
11. Close Combat 5 Invasion Normandy
12. Unreal Tournament 1
13. Need For Speed 3
14. Shadow Warrior
15. Super Street Fighter 2
16. Heretic 1
17. Rainbow Six
18. Test Drive II: The Duel
19. Microsoft Flight Simulator 98

I'm interested, why is Doom 1 absent in your list, but the previous two Doom games are?
