Nor do I.

Is this some sort of failed attempt at a prank? :?

Ah, found it.

I don't see why he didn't provide a link in the first place...

Anyways, I'm not surprised at all.  To me, this isn't really "news".  Who DIDNT know they would be probably creating Diablo 3?  :P

Just because they need someone to lead the team who made Diablo 1 and 2 doesn't mean that they're going to make Diablo 3.
I hope they make something new.

Nah, they're just going to revisit the same properties over and over.  Like id, sans the dissappointment with the final product.  :D

I dunno, maybe it's because I played StarCraft before any of the Warcrafts, but Warcraft III never really did much for me ...

Also, and someone may agree with me on this one:
I feel really stupid for liking Diablo or any game based on its formula.  The story is razor thin and the game is nothing but "click click click" on the mouse to get around and slash enemies until you level up.  Collect some treasure/gold/weapons ... go to next level ... same thing ... yet it's fun ... am I really that simple-minded?

Well, now that I think about it, you are definetely correct about Warcraft 3.

I felt that there was too much emphasis on heros and micro-management, and the game didn't really capture me as much as Starcraft and Warcraft 2, but then again, the hero system and such gave the game a unique feel, so it definetely has a place of its own.

I guess it all barrels down to taste.

Playing a first person shooter (ps. read an old post of me about "real" first person shooters to understand what i mean)  is like: walk around the level, find the keys/switches and slay the monsters. Very simplistic.

I love FPS games; they're my favourite game genre. Painkiller was the best game of 2004 for me - if you played it, you know how simplistic was - the HUD even had an arrow telling you where the next monster is: you just had to kill it!

But i'm definitelly NOT simple minded.

About the Diablo 3 thing. AFAIK, the Diable 1 and Diablo 2 team left Blizzard some time ago. If Blizzard took them back, then that probably means that they want to create Diablo 3.

For many people, Diable 2 was better than Diablo 1 (personally i've only played Diablo 1). The expectations now are that Diablo 3 will be better than Diablo 2 (not my expectations, but the rumors i hear here and there). Personally, i think that it has a great chance to... fail. If it was the "original" Blizzard, i wouldn't say that. But Blizzard was selled to one of those big companies who tend to screw teams up.

That reminds me when someone told some years ago in a conversation about games and how good they are: If you go to a shop and see Blizzard written on a game box, buy it immediatelly. It's pointless to think about it.

I don't think this is common knowledge, but they've been working on D3 for a bit now. They had two projects going, but when Team Condor left, they scrapped one. Seems they decided to play it safe and keep D3.
