A friend of mine has a N-Gage and he gives it to me very frequently. He got RF recently so i said to give a try, since i'm a FPS fan.

It took me a lot to get used to the controls. At the beginning it was hard but anyway there weren't much enemies around so i managed to progress.

However after having played the game for some days (3-4) i got stuck in Barracks, part 2. I'm there the last two days. I spotted the reasons in these aspects:

1. The N-Gage's controls doesn't allow fast repetitions. The enemies can fire faster at you that you can to them. Especially those flying robots.

2. The auto-aim while is good when there is one enemy around, makes your life harder when there are two, since your view follows the one enemy and the other can shoot you from the side or from your back. Also i think that turning the view wasn't a good choice; moving the rectangle (target spot) on the screen could be better.

3. Again the auto-aim works only when you get close to people. However enemies can fire you once they appear in the screen. Aiming with N-Gage is very difficult, so basically the only thing you can do is to find a place to hide. Additionally, many enemies just sit there and don't try to find you.

4. There was a place in the Barracks, pt2 which really frustrated me. The place had a T shaped bridge (or something) and there were four exits. The exit which wasn't connected to the bridge was opened last, after you had to cope with 4-5 other enemies, loosing most of your ammo and damaging your shield (the semi-transparent thing). However from that exit, two running enemies come which hold -i assume- a machinegun. Well, they shoot me down quickly since i can't jump there (the soldier blocks me or i just fall - i managed to go there only two times - i usually die in early places) and the auto-aim doesn't work. And even if it did worked, my guns aren't powerful enough (and as i said above i can't fire fast).

While the game is addictive and simple (you don't have to do shit like driving vehicles or doing researches for creating the next-gen UFO) it makes me think that it was made difficult by intention in order to make a long time to finish it and give the illusion that the game was big while isn't (i don't know if it is, it just makes me think that).

Of course i don't know other FPSes to compare with, but my intention wasn't to compare it with other games (are there other FPSes for N-Gage?).

However it made me change my mind that a handheld cannot have a FPS. However handheld FPSes cannot be the same as desktop FPS games.

The game is much better if played on a QD. I liked it, honestly. Very good game.

Control schemes, among other things. A little better for playing FPS games. At least I thought it was ;)
