Since living in Japan i have seen amazing stuff... Everyday i am constantly amazed at the general living stuff that i use all the time...
The following links are in Japanese, so you wont understand what the text says, there are pictures.. just have a look at the pictures...
Take the ICOCA card ( the words mean, IC On Card... but ICOCA is Kansai slang for "Lets go" ).. this card is the same size as a bank card, but that where the similarity ends... This card is super high tech... The train walk through system sends radio waves to the card, and recieves data from the card.. im not sure how it does this... its amazing stuff..

You can have the card in your wallet or bag.. and just put your wallet or bag on the touch pad, theres no need to take the card out... These cards allow unlimited travel between the destinations 7 days a week for a full month.. but if you travel outside your destination, then before you travel you just add money credits to the card, and it will automatically deduct the credits off the card when you walk through the train walkthrough system at the destination side, it also tells you how much money is left on the card... After 1 month you have to re-charge the card, this is also amazing... you just go into the ticket place, and they put the card into this computer system, which not only tops the card, but it also rewrites the info on the card

.... but if you cant get to a ticket office, then you can do the same with this ticket machine...

They are a cross between a cash register, and a money vending machine... When you give them the money, they just throw the coins into a wide slot, then the change comes out of another slot.. they dont even have to count the money.... but the paper money, they count it in front of you....
