Are there any good fast paced games for Apple II?

The only two I have are Pac-Man and Jumpman and I can't play Jumpman because it requires a joystick, which I don't have.

I used to enjoy Wolfenstein, Karataka, wavy navy, Choplifter, Aztec and by far my favourite was Bolo.

so that means, I like apple computers and apple (fruit)

I used to have games on the apple computer, but it was long back, and they were after the apple II, the oldest game was like 1989 and newest was 1992? but the best game on the Mac was Test Drive II: The Duel

And as for the Apple Mac II, used it before, and it has a ice design.

Interestingly, Bolo was written by a guy named Jim Lane. He never put his name in the game because he worked at Microsoft at the time

There's actually a game I'm dying to have identified for me.  It was an Apple II game, and I believe it was from the same mind(s) who gave us Choplifter!

It took place on water, using nice scaling and 3D-isms for the day, including high resolution graphics and above average animation.  The water itself was black, and I don't remember much about the enemies... but I clearly remember you were on a circular raft or boat of some sort....

Does this stir anyone's memory??

Oh, and.... adding to the list, I gotta mention 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' on the Apple.  Creative and fun...

Quinn, of course - I'm the Apple II Master.  I know every single game on the Apple II.

You're talking about Airheart (Broderbund).  It was a really great game - I finished that one, too.  Loved the speed over the water.  Dan Gorlin also made a game called Typhoon Thompson: Search for the Sea Child that was a more advanced engine than Airheart's, but it was never published on the Apple II.

Read this interview with Dan Gorlin...

John, YES!

I knew I'd know the title once I heard it again...

Loved that game, and I'm reading the interview now...

Thanks!!

Hi!  You should check out "Bandits" by Benny & Tony Ngo for the Apple ][. It is a GREAT simple shoot-em-up arcade game imho... I wasted many hours with that beauty back in the day!

In fact I just got a great Apple ][ emu for my (modded) xbox! Wow what fun playing those games again. My old Apple ][ is still in the loft (attic !)..

Holy shit that's kickass!!!!  Playing Apple II games on an XBOX with an XBOX controller?????? WOW!  I need to do that.

Bandits - of course, i have a perfect copy of that game.  Tony & Benny were kickass coders.  Wanna know something interesting?  You remember Drol was made by "Aik Beng", published by Broderbund?  Well, the full name is Benny Aik Beng Ngo.  Bandits was published by Sirius.  So it's as if Mr. Benny Ngo was working for competing companies!  Heh.  Lots of this happened back then, actually.......

My favorite Apple II action games of all time:

Rescue Raiders - It's like choplifter with a little RTS thrown in!  I still play this game!
Gemstone Warriors - This game actually scared me sometimes.
Aztec - I like the complexity of the control system.
Star Blazer - One of the best side scroller action games for the apple 2
Situation Critical - But only the mission where it's side scrolling
Sword of Kadash - "The adventure continues... Glory or Death?"
Bolo - I'm making an updated version of this as we speak.
