But piracy is bad. :(  Plus the version they were planning to release apparently had bugfixes.  Besides, it's a pain to find relatively obscure stuff on trackers and p2p.

There's got to be somebody out there who still remembers this.  I even heard from someone on another board who received word that it was still "in process".

yes, of course, i agree on both counts.

john seems to have lot of work recently (or too much rest:)) since he also promised to release some quake1-related stuff long ago, same about daikatana betas or whatnot. maybe he forgot, maybe he's just too busy.

I've not had the chance to play HDB yet( I think you need a certain Mobile Phone or something...and mine is like a "Nokia 3510i" ), but I only hear good things about it... ^_^

JR - just make the new HDB the way you think it should be - Thats what I'd do! ^_^

There's a PC/Windows version somewhere.

Do you think something will happen if I keep posting in this thread every month?

Hey, y'know, that Quake I stuff was finally released.  Could HDB be next?

(While we're on the subject, do you think we might ever see Bust'Em again?  Rather nifty take on the Breakout genre, that one.)

HDB is not for sale right now but Tom Hall is going to be doing something about that before too long as he will be in control of the game and its sales. I'll post about it when the situation changes.
-from here

I guess that solves that little mystery, sorta.

Aaand one year later, I guess Mr. Hall has been too busy to tend to this.

Every once in a while, I remember this game, get the urge to play it, and have to settle for the two demo levels. I have no problems finding copies of the Linux and Pocket PC full games, but I can't find the full PC one anywhere. Heck, I wouldn't even mind buying it.

I daresay if Mr. Hall's been planning to implement some sort of purchasing scheme, he might as well give up and just make it available as freeware, if that's been the cause of the holdup.

Now that Mr. Hall has a Wordpress blog, maybe we should just petition the comments section repeatedly. ;)
