Nina is going down to Chinatown :(

We've decided a while ago that we should get rid of one of our dogs - Nina- because she's hard to train and sometimes a bit weird imo... she sleeps all the time and hides under the pillows on our couch ... and if you hold her and you don't constantly pat her she cries.. X_X;
On the other hand, her brother, Cheez - is pretty much her opposite and I love his personality... he does want to be center of attention all the time but he is not being annoying about it which is good... and he just seems smarted and easier to train.
So... today I put up an ad on craigslist (http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/pet/336919512.html) - craigslist - which is more like a broke ass list - if u don't believe me just ckeck their adds - i even saw someone's ad wanting to trade some stones for a dog... (not kidding).
Anyway i know there are going to be people that are gonna love her personality.. and she's super cute.. in other circumstances i'd keep her :(
She's too cute! But thinking about the expences and the ruined shoes, furniture (while her teeth were growing) carpet (i couldn't train her to use the pads to pee on) ... and the Canon Rebel XTi that virtualy went into paying for having the dogs at our place (waaaaaaaa)... i think it's a good decision..
Waaa - poor Nina >.<I know that having toy breed - type of dogs in an apartment is not a good ideea, mainly because they're too hard to "potty train" - harder than a bigger sized dog.. but thinking about how cats (which are perfect for an apartment) change when they get older and they get boring and cranky i'd choose a dog any day, over a cat - especialy if it's my dog, Cheezy :P he's too cool!
Right now i'm just gonna try to find someone that would really like her and take good care of her. And pay 400$ for her - i payed 300$ and the rest will cover all her stuff and food. YAY :( *sigh *tear

Ouch...poor Nina...
Good to see you back after a long absence :)
Cats are cuter. :)
Wow, $400 for such a tiny dog? I guess that's California for ya. SF is a pretty cool town. Awesom seafood, way too liberal, though
Having to spend time nurturing dogs is something people should be prepared to do before even considering adopting one (just like having a child - with a baby you can't put it up for adoption if you don't like its personality). Will it break her heart to separate her from her brother and place her in a completely foreign environment?
I would prefer not to give her away - the reasons i want to do that are only related to house training problems (which are my fault for not wanting to consider before adopting her) and her not being a very sociable dog .. she spends most of the day hiding under pillows on the couch.. and she doesn't play much with her brother either.. but still they do keep each other company.
And even so lots of dogs are being rehomed all the time for different reasons and i think most dogs are lucky if they end up to go to a family together with their siblings..
We still have her though - i don't know when/if we'll find someone good for her soon..
Plus a dog is not a child - even if you dress your dog up it's still a dog..
You can't choose your child (unless you adopt) but you can at least choose your dog.
But we might end up just keeping her and trying hard to train her..
wow, that is that a mix of a terrier and chihuahua? looks exactly like my dog except mine is white with black on his back, same pattern that a cow has LOL.
She is purebred chihuahua from what the vet told us - and yeah she's still around.. heh XD
that's such a cute dog, if i was her owner, i probably wouldn't have the heart to give her away looks so sweet. maybe you can phone up that Dog Whisperer guy to help you with Nina, he seems to be really good at helping people train their dogs and he does it well.
Da javra la hinghieri Raluca, si ia-ti un maidanez adevarat din oricare cartier Bucurestean :-) Gandestete-te, un maidanez autentic face cat patruzeci de pirpirii ca asta!
"Plus a dog is not a child - even if you dress your dog up it's still a dog"
What a cold statement.
And an adopted child is not really the parents child but some people choose to love them anyway. What made you want to be a dog owner to begin with?
To some dog owners, their pets are just as much their children as the scream snot-nosed kids next door are to their parents. It's just as cruel to separate littermates as it is human toddlers.
You change your mind far to frequently to have animals, why don't you try a virtual pet instead.
Animals where not put on this planet to appease your boredom.
You should chill out, i treat my animals better than most people do. They are both healthy and doing great. And everyone has the right to change their mind about their pets.. It's like a relationship - if it's not working out you move on. Would be nice to see a person and instantly know it's gonna work out and you're gonna be together forever..Same goes for getting a pet.
You can't choose your family but you CAN choose everything else in life.
